June’s full moon is the strawberry moon, named after the small wild strawberries that ripen at this time of the year, according to Almanac.

The strawberry moon is also known as the “hot moon,” “green corn moon” and “berries ripen moon” to Native American tribes; the “horse moon,” “rose moon” and “dyan moon” in Celtic culture; and the “mead moon” to Anglo-Saxons, a nod to the moon occurring during a time of year meant for mowing the meads, or meadows.

Continental United States is most perfect place to see the Strawberry moon at its peak.

London – Tehcnically UTC is London. However due to daylight saving time changes, its 08:44 in the morning. So, wakeup early and try Strawberry moon even you cannot see its peak.

Tokyo – It’s 16:44 and in the evening. Just wait couple of hours to catch the sunset and see the aftermath of peak.

New York – It’s 03:44 and very much early morning. However it is worthy to wakeup couple of hours early to catch this moment as you can go back to sleep with a happiness of knowing you can sleep more.

Los Angeles – LA is the perfect place to watch strawberry moon as the peak will reach 00:44 just after midnight. Most of us are comfortable to wait until midnight these days.
