Boris Johnson Becomes Dad for the Ninth Time

London, May 25, 2025 – Boris Johnson, the former UK Prime Minister, 60, and his wife Carrie, 37, just welcomed their fourth kid, a daughter named Poppy Eliza Josephine Johnson, born on May 21, 2025. Carrie shared the news on Instagram, saying they’re “absolutely smitten” with their new baby, nicknamed “Pop Tart,” and gave a big shout-out to the maternity team at University College London Hospital for their awesome support.

This makes nine kids for Boris. With Carrie, he’s got Wilfred (born April 2020), Romy (born December 2021), Frank (born July 2023), and now Poppy. From his earlier marriage to Marina Wheeler, he has four more: Lara, 31, a journalist and broadcaster; Milo, 29, who works in finance; Cassia, 27, an artist; and Theodore, 25, a writer and environmentalist. He’s also got Stephanie, 15, from a 2009 relationship with art consultant Helen Macintyre. Back in 2021, he said he had six kids, and since then, three more have joined the crew with Carrie.

Carrie hinted that Poppy might be their last, calling her the “final gang member.” Boris’s big, blended family, full of journalists, finance pros, artists, eco-activists, and now a lively bunch of little ones keeps him in the headlines, and fans are buzzing about the latest addition.

The news blew up on social media, with thousands of users flooding platforms with congratulations for the couple. A few users are jokingly saying it looks like the former prime minister is taking matters into his own hands to fight the birth rate crisis.
