Geopolitics & Internationl Trade by CLASS | Panel Discussion and Networking Event

The Centre for Law and Security Studies (CLASS) successfully hosted the forum “Geopolitics and International Trade: A Sri Lankan Perspective”, uniting distinguished diplomats, economists, and industry leaders for a timely dialogue on how global political shifts are shaping Sri Lanka’s trade and economic outlook.

The event was graced by H.E. Carmen Moreno, Ambassador of the European Union to Sri Lanka, who delivered the keynote address as Guest of Honour. Joining her as Guest of Honour was Mr. Duminda Hulangamuwa, Country Managing Partner of EY Sri Lanka, whose insights highlighted the intersection of global economic trends and local opportunities.

Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Ganeshan Wignaraja, setting the tone for an engaging discussion. A thought-provoking panel followed, moderated by Mr. Dhananath Fernando, with valuable perspectives from Amb. Ravinatha Aryasinha and Mr. Talal Rafi. Together, they explored how Sri Lanka can navigate the evolving geopolitical and trade landscape.
