Sri Lankan President visited Kachchatheevu Island that created Indo-Sri Lanka controversy

Sri Lankan President AKD visited Kachchatheevu Island, which is causing controversial dialogue in Southern India these days with a speech delivered by South Indian superstar and Tamilnadu CM candidate Vijay Thalapathi.

This uninhabited island is declared as Sri Lankan territory in 1974 by an agreement signed by Indian PM Indira Ghandi and Sri Lankan PM Sirimavo Bandaranaike. However, the ownership of the island is subjected to heated topic since then. Ancient ownership of this island was with the South Indian Kingdom and the Jaffna Kingdom time to time. It is primarily about fishing rights other than owning a 265-acre piece of land.
